Review by Chazy Man : Handy, Reliable, and Solace in an Emergency 5 Star

The title tells it all. I've had this for three years and find its meany features to be practical and 100% reliable. You just never know when you'll need it, whether a power failure from a storm, a weak car battery, or just need a strong portable light or 12V plug-in source. I've seen a lot of things that purport to do some or all of what this product does but never one that comes as close to this one at doing it all so well. And I don't even have a telescope!

Review by Scott C. Johnson : Good power source for a goto telescope 4 Star

I bought this 17AH battery to power my Celestron CPC1100 telescope. It works well powering the telescope. However, I would recommend an additional power source if you have a dew heater. The dew heater drains the battery in a few hours. When the battery gets low, the telescope movements became eratic (wouldn't stop on the desired object).I would rate the battery higher if the charging cord were better. My charging cord died with one or two recharges. I ended up buying a smart battery charger (battery minder plus) which I plug in through one of the front cigarette lighter ports (not through the charging port). I briefly used a radioshack charging cord. However, I didn't have much confidence that it charged the battery to the right voltage without over-charging and damaging the battery.I haven't really used the radio but the headlight is extremely bright and useful when tearing down your telescope for the night. It is a relatively convenient size for carrying and doesn't seem overly heavy to me.

Review by John James Martin : The charging unit is junk 3 Star

I purchase this unit for my Celestron Telescope. I have gone through two of these units. The charging adapter on the first one killed the charging circuit. Celestron replaced the whole unit, no questions asked. The only bad thing is I had to pay for shipping. I got the second one, plugged in the charging unit and charged it up. Used it and went to charge it again and the charging adapter had died. Called Celestron and said to return the whole unit. I explained that it was just the adapter because I could use a laptop adapter and charge the tank. But I had to monitor it carefully. Got the new adapter, it was bad. I now use a trickle adapter that I purchased from Walmart. Connected the flimsy power cord to it and that works. I also purchase a Black and Decker power tank from Walmart. It does not last as long, but it is my reliable back up when I am having problems with the Power Tank.

Review by J. Shoffner : So Far so good 5 Star

It may be too early to review this item as it has only been a month. I bought the 17Amp supply to power my Go-to scope and associated heaters, lights, GPS and etc. This unit replaced the Celestron 7amp battery which lasted 6 years. So far, all components/features (including the charger) work as advertised. I've used/recharged the supply 3 times with no problems. I would recommend it to anyone powering telescopes. So far, I've had a sour history with Celestron's customer support, but their products are generally of good quality and this power supply is doing what it was designed for.

Review by Bruce A. Jastrow "Love Guitar" : Great Celestron Power Tank 17V Rechargeable Power Supply. 5 Star

This is a powerfull unit that supplies my telescope with enough energy to last all night..
